Lewis Hamilton addressed John Elkann’s recent comments during the usual media day in Las Vegas, emphasizing that Ferrari does not have a “blame culture.” The reference was to John Elkann’s remarks after a challenging weekend in São Paulo, where he urged the two drivers to “talk less and focus more on driving.” While the comments sparked media debate, the British champion chose to interpret them constructively.
Hamilton confirmed that the atmosphere at Maranello remains positive and focused on growth: “We have continued to work hard in the factory. Nobody has lost motivation; we are all focused on improving the car. John and I speak every week, our relationship is strong, and the passion has never been lacking.”
The Ferrari president had highlighted that the team, fighting for second place in the Constructors’ Championship, needed to get more from its drivers in the final races of the season. However, Lewis Hamilton reassured that neither he nor Charles Leclerc felt personally targeted.
“I don’t believe there is a culture of finger-pointing,” he explained. “We are all part of the same group, all responsible. There is no pointing fingers: everyone gives their best and knows they have to play their part.”
The former Mercedes driver also reiterated his confidence in his decision to join Ferrari: “I firmly believe in coming here. I believe in the team 100%. It hasn’t been an easy season, but I have learned so much. I feel stronger and more determined than ever.”
Lewis Hamilton acknowledged that his first season in red has not been exactly as dreamed, but he prefers to focus on the positive side: “There have been really tough moments, but I discovered a resilience I didn’t know I had. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow. We will use everything we have learned to build something better.”
The seven-time Formula 1 champion concluded with a message of strong trust in the team: “I believe in every single person at Maranello and on track. They give everything every day. My commitment is to help them return to the top, where Ferrari belongs.”
