Lewis Hamilton brushes off claims of strained relationship with Ferrari F1 engineer Riccardo Adami. Lewis Hamilton has dismissed rumours of tension with Ferrari race engineer Riccardo Adami.

Lewis Hamilton Shuts Down Speculation About Ferrari Engineer Riccardo Adami Amid Radio Tension

Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton has firmly dismissed growing speculation over a supposed rift with his F1 race engineer, Riccardo Adami, calling the rumours nothing more than background noise that has no impact on their professional focus. The seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, who joined the Maranello team for the 2025 season, addressed the topic during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona, where questions about his working relationship with Riccardo Adami resurfaced following a string of radio exchanges that drew attention earlier in the year.

The situation first gained traction during the Miami Grand Prix in May. On team radio, Lewis Hamilton expressed frustration over Ferrari’s hesitancy to issue team orders involving Charles Leclerc, sarcastically suggesting the team might as well take a “tea break” during their deliberations. The comment sparked online chatter about internal tension, which only intensified a few weeks later in Monaco. There, during the race’s final stages, the Briton was heard asking if Riccardo Adami was upset with him — a query that seemingly went unanswered at the time, further fuelling speculation.

When asked in Barcelona how things stood with Riccardo Adami, the former Mercedes man made it clear that the relationship between driver and engineer remained solid. He emphasized that there were no underlying problems and that the two continued to improve their collaboration with each passing race. According to Lewis Hamilton, their working dynamic is built on mutual respect and adaptability, with both parties learning and adjusting to each other’s communication and working styles.

He also downplayed the radio moments that had raised eyebrows, suggesting they were being taken out of context. Hamilton stated that disagreements were a normal part of any working relationship and that such exchanges were not unusual in a high-pressure environment like Formula 1. He acknowledged that both he and Adami were deeply committed to the shared goal of elevating Ferrari’s performance and pushing for championship success.

When pressed on whether the speculation bothered him, Lewis Hamilton reportedly shrugged off the rumours, calling them baseless and irrelevant to the tasks at hand. He praised Riccardo Adami’s work ethic and character, stating that the engineer had been “amazing to work with” and reiterating their joint effort to drive the team forward. Hamilton made it clear that their shared ambition to win as a team outweighed any perceived friction.

He also clarified the context behind his radio message during the Monaco Grand Prix, pointing to technical issues that had disrupted communication throughout the race. Hamilton noted that he simply lacked some of the information he needed during that time, which led to the inquiry.

In Lewis Hamilton’s view, the speculation surrounding his relationship with Riccardo Adami is more a product of outside noise than any internal discord. He made it clear that while fans and media may continue to discuss it, such talk holds no influence over the real work being done inside the Ferrari garage.
