Charles Leclerc has reaffirmed his commitment to Ferrari’s 2025 Formula 1 campaign, emphasising that he will give his absolute best until the final race, as he underlined the crucial role that ongoing upgrades could play in the team’s pursuit of improved results.
After a relatively modest start to the season, Charles Leclerc has found more consistent form in recent races, securing three podium finishes in the last five Grands Prix. Among them were a second-place finish at the demanding street circuit in Monaco, Monte Carlo, and a third-place result in Spain at the Circuit de Catalunya—two vastly different tracks in terms of setup and car performance, highlighting the Monegasque driver’s adaptability and Ferrari’s recent progress.
Despite dealing with ongoing balance and ride height issues with the SF-25, Ferrari has managed to climb to second in the Constructors’ Championship. Both Charles Leclerc and teammate Lewis Hamilton have contributed to this effort, though the Scuderia still trails dominant leaders McLaren by a significant 197-point margin.
Charles Leclerc admitted that, when evaluating the situation on paper, it appeared highly challenging to mount a serious title challenge against McLaren. However, the Monegasque was adamant that Ferrari must keep pushing forward. He stressed the importance of continuing development and trying to close the gap, maintaining that the team must aim to lead in terms of on-track performance wherever possible.
When asked by journalists about his expectations for the remainder of the 2025 Formula 1 season, Charles Leclerc responded by saying that he preferred not to look too far ahead. He explained that, while he has a clear understanding of Ferrari’s upcoming technical improvements, he cannot anticipate what upgrades rival teams might introduce, making it difficult to forecast any concrete results or standings.
Charles Leclerc acknowledged the strength McLaren has shown so far in 2025, particularly in the opening part of the season. Nevertheless, he insisted that he intends to keep fighting at full intensity. The Ferrari man expressed hope that the Maranello team’s new parts—expected soon—will allow the team to take a step forward in performance. If the upgrades prove effective, Charles Leclerc believes the Italian side may still have a chance to challenge more consistently at the front. However, he also cautioned that they cannot afford to lose further ground in the races to come.
