After closing one of the most complex Formula 1 seasons of his career, Lewis Hamilton has chosen to turn the page by focusing on his passions away from the racetrack. The seven-time world champion spent Sunday in the United States, where he attended a game involving his NFL team, sharing the experience with fans through his social media channels.
Hamilton flies to Denver to support his Broncos
Following a short stay in New York City, Lewis Hamilton travelled to Denver to experience, for the first time, the atmosphere of Mile High Stadium. The British driver, who is part of the Walter-Penner ownership group of the Denver Broncos, enthusiastically followed the regular-season clash from the stands.
It was not a lucky debut, however. The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Broncos 34–20, bringing an end to an eleven-game winning streak.
Despite the disappointment, the Briton wanted to send a message of support to the team. And although he had joked in Abu Dhabi that he would “throw his phone in the trash”, after the game he wrote on Instagram:
“Today was a tough day, but I’m incredibly proud of this team. Even on a difficult day like today, I’m inspired by the way you support each other and keep pushing forward. Remember, it’s not about how we fall, but how we get back up! On to the next game!”
Between cinema, GT3 racing and new regulations: the future inside and outside F1
Like many of his colleagues, Lewis Hamilton continues to cultivate projects beyond Formula 1. Max Verstappen, for example, has been focusing on GT3 racing, recently testing in Portugal. Hamilton himself has expanded his horizons by becoming a co-producer of “F1: The Movie”, one of the most anticipated motorsport-related film projects in recent years.
From a sporting perspective, however, the British driver is coming off a difficult campaign, the first winless season of his entire Formula 1 career. The arrival of the new technical regulations has not fully reassured him either. Lewis Hamilton explained:
“I think it’s really very difficult to predict what it’s going to be like. I don’t want to criticise it, I don’t want to say too many negative things. Everything looks so different, I’m not sure you’ll like it, but maybe I’ll be surprised and maybe it will be great. Maybe the overtaking will be incredible. Maybe it will be easier to overtake. I don’t know.”
Between sporting commitments, cinema projects and upcoming regulatory challenges, Lewis Hamilton is facing this transitional phase with the determination that has always defined his career. The recently concluded season has not diminished his desire to compete nor his enthusiasm for projects beyond the racetrack.
Lewis Hamilton is therefore utilizing his off-season to recharge through his passions, such as supporting the Denver Broncos and producing his upcoming F1 film. While he remains skeptical about the impact of the 2026 technical regulations, his focus remains on personal growth and finding momentum both on and off the race track.
