Bahrain qualifying, Lewis Hamilton’s disappointment
Head down, barely any words, and a face that speaks for itself. Lewis Hamilton didn’t even need to talk to express his disappointment after qualifying ninth on the grid for the Bahrain Grand Prix, which was held earlier today at the 5.412-kilometre Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.
The seven-time Formula 1 world champion isn’t making excuses. The fact that it’s only his fourth race weekend with Ferrari doesn’t matter much: everyone was expecting a different start to the season — Lewis himself, above all.
Lewis Hamilton’s words
“Did I have any issues in the final sector? No, it didn’t make any difference, I was just too slow,” he told Sky Sport F1. “Right now I have no confidence going into the race. I’m really sorry for the whole team, both at the track and at the factory, and I apologize to all the fans, that’s all.” – the British driver pointed out.
Today marks Lewis Hamilton’s worst qualifying performance with Scuderia Ferrari. As for the Bahrain GP races, this is the fourth time Lewis Hamilton has started from ninth: car #44 has matched the results of 2013, 2018, and 2024 — he has never started lower than this in Sakhir.
