According to recent rumors, Formula 1 is close to adding another Grand Prix in the United States to the calendar starting with the 2023 championship. As reported by Sports Business Journal, Formula 1 and Las Vegas officials are negotiating to finalize a dea which would bring a night event to ‘The Strip’ next season.
As a result of the sport’s growing popularity in the United States, Formula 1 bosses want to organize a third race here, with Las Vegas the most likely new destination. Formula 1 plans for the race to be held in 2023, yet given the fact that a deal has not yet been reached and for organizational procedures, there could be delays which may push the event back until 2024.
Austin has been a mainstay on the Formula 1 calendar for the last ten years (except for 2020, when the race could not be held), while Miami is getting ready to host its first Formula 1 Grand Prix in May.

We recall that the last two Formula 1 races in Las Vegas took place in 1981 and 1982 at Caesars Palace. Following disappointing crowds, the management of the sport decided not to return to this venue since then.
Yesterday it was confirmed that Singapore will remain on the calendar until at least 2028, after signing a seven-year contract extension. Saudi Arabia and Qatar – new additions to the Formula 1 circus – are on 10-year deals, while Miami also has a long-term agreement. Qatar is expected to return to the 2023 calendar after being omitted from the 2022 calendar due to the FIFA World Cup in the winter. China also has a good chance to once again host a Formula 1 race in the 2023 championship, after three years in which the sport did not travel to the Shanghai International Circuit.
This means that from 2023 we may actually have an even longer season, with a record-breaking 23-races this year.
