Ferrari’s 2023 Formula One season is proving to be really negative following the performance seen in the first three rounds, at least considering the far from exciting results scored by Charles Leclerc in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia. In fact, the men from the Scuderia are coming to terms with the reality of a slow and problematic single-seater which, despite the high expectations and positive comments during the winter, is proving to be incapable of fighting against the highly superior Red Bull RB19, but even with teams like Mercedes and Aston Martin.
Given the current situation, the Maranello team has collected only a handful of points during the first three outings of the season, showing disappointing performances in the first two races in Bahrain and Jeddah, where the SF-23 suffered from a lack of downforce and tire management. In Australia, where the situation seemed better (with a car at the level of its rivals), Ferrari was not able to score any points due to driver errors and a penalty for Carlos Sainz given by the race stewards due to an incident with the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso.
To date, therefore, the Italian team has only 26 points to its credit (the worst result since 2010) and is forced, among other things, to manage the disappointment for the start of the season mixed with significant pressure within the Racing Division and the deep disappointment experienced by the fans who, for the umpteenth time, were forced to postpone their dreams of glory. A discontent that Lapo Elkann (the brother of Ferrari president John Elkann) expressed harshly and decisively through his Twitter profile, acting as the spokesperson for millions of fans around the world.
A message with which Lapo invites those in duty, within the Maranello company, to make changes in terms of team management as soon as possible, seeking top level, passionate engineers with a winning mentality to return Ferrari to the top of Formula 1. On the contrary, however, he urges the team to abandon political and sometimes power games, the only result of which is to destabilize the team and prevent it from achieving success.

“Ferrari needs passion, seriousness and a winning team, in the pits and outside. It’s time to wake us up, enough with politics and games, in this way we will NEVER win!!!!”
A short message from Lapo, but one which is extremely clear and direct in content (that comes just a few days after another Tweet in which he invited the Scuderia to wake up) and which, as inevitable as it is, has generated many comments and retweets. A message that however, on closer inspection, has the clear aim of launching an attack, not too subtle, on the Ferrari top management and, in fact (in addition to the CEO Benedetto Vigna), on the president John Elkann, who is also his brother.
A message which, in fact, asks the Ferrari senior management to abandon the political and power games within the Maranello team to return to success as soon as possible but that, in all probability, will have the opposite effect, namely that of creating new tensions in the upper floors of Maranello.
