Antonio Giovinazzi has heaped the praise on his teammate, Kimi Raikkonen describing him as a “fantastic driver” following his positive start to the 2019 season at his new Alfa Romeo team.
Kimi Raikkonen is the only driver outside the top five to have scored points at every race and sits seventh in the Driver’s Championship. Despite his teammate’s success, Giovinazzi has struggled in his return to F1 scoring zero points so far, an issue highlighted by Kimi Raikkonen’s good form. This has led to Frederic Vasseur defending the Italian, insisting results will come soon.
In an interview on Fi.com Antonio Giovinazzi praised the Finn saying: “To have Kimi as a team-mate is a good reference. Of course he is a fantastic driver with a lot experience.
“He knows already what he wants before the race weekend, so this is something really good to see, but it’s just experience in the end. For the team to have Kimi is something really good, just to improve the team and grow up really fast – and it’s what we are doing and what the team is doing,” added Antonio Giovinazzi.
