Replacing an absent Carlos Sainz at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in the second round of the 2024 Formula 1 championship, Ferrari junior Oliver Bearman swiftly stole the spotlight in Saudi Arabia, sparking discussions about his potential full-time entry into the Formula 1 arena starting with the upcoming season. With Nico Hulkenberg’s shift to Sauber, the American side looms as a plausible destination for Oliver Bearman. However, Kevin Magnussen has made it clear that he won’t be taking on any mentoring responsibilities for the 18-year-old Ferrari Driver Academy member, should the need arise.
In remarks to PitDebrief, the Danish driver asserted his disinterest in guiding Oliver Bearman, stating that his role is to care for children at home, not on the racetrack: “I’m not really here to take care of young kids. I do that at home,” Kevin Magnussen asserted.
The 31-year-old emphasized his desire for the team to recruit someone as capable, professional, and consistent as the departing Hulkenberg. As of now, Magnussen himself lacks a guaranteed seat in Haas for the upcoming season but remains hopeful of retaining his position within the American F1 outfit.
Kevin Magnussen’s uncertain Formula 1 future with Haas is intertwined with the team’s ongoing interest in emerging British talent Oliver Bearman.

With the Haas team principal’s glowing assessment of the young driver, Kevin Magnussen’s reluctance to support Oliver Bearman might have jeopardized his own prospects of contract renewal with Haas, potentially diminishing his chances of securing a future with the American team.
