A great victory
For the twentieth time in its history, Scuderia Ferrari has managed to triumph in the home race at the 5.793-kilometre Autodromo Nazionale Monza. This victory was a mix of speed, creativity, and boldness, with Charles Leclerc masterfully crossing the finish line as the winner with only one pit stop, unlike the double stop of all his rivals. The last laps were particularly nerve-wracking for the many fans of the Prancing Horse, as Oscar Piastri in the McLaren closed in but couldn’t bridge the gap before the checkered flag.
John Elkann’s comment
Ferrari president John Elkann congratulated Charles Leclerc and the Maranello team and dedicated the victory to the fans: “Winning at Monza, at our home, is a unique emotion. This victory is for all our fans who always support us and who today cheered for Charles during the final laps of the race. Congratulations to the entire team, who worked well in every aspect, putting Ferrari in a position to give its best.” – John Elkann said.
Benedetto Vigna’s words
Speaking to Sky after the celebration in the pit lane, chief executive officer Benedetto Vigna, who was present at the circuit, also commented on the return to success at Monza after five years: “It’s wonderful, today marks exactly three years since I joined Ferrari. These have been three fantastic years, and this is the best gift I could receive. You can only experience such passion, and I’m very happy with what the team is doing; the credit goes to them.” – the Ferrari CEO concluded.
