The Ferrari president steps in to silence rumors surrounding the team principal.
The president speaks
On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), held this evening in Washington D.C. where he will be honored, Ferrari president John Elkann decided to make a public statement to put an end to the growing speculation of recent days about team principal Frederic Vasseur, officially denying all the rumors.
“I want to express our full confidence in our Team Principal, Fred Vasseur, and in the work he is carrying out together with all his colleagues at Scuderia Ferrari — the mechanics, engineers, and drivers who are competing this weekend in Austin. I also want to emphasize the importance of teamwork from everyone to maintain focus on the only goal that truly matters: always giving our absolute best on track,” said John Elkann in a statement released to the media.
The Horner rumor collapses
With this official statement, any speculation linking Christian Horner to Ferrari has now completely lost credibility — as our outlet had already indicated last Saturday. On July 31, Ferrari reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Frederic Vasseur with a multi-year project, reportedly lasting three years. It will therefore be up to the Frenchman to shape the team according to his vision and lead the Prancing Horse back to the long-awaited world championship glory.
