The first Grand Prix of the 2022 Formula 1 season in Bahrain was marked by emotions, a great show and, above all, a newly competitive Scuderia Ferrari team, capable of conquering Pole position, a double podium finish and the fastest lap. An incredible result, which the F1-75 car designed in Maranello achieved with relative ease, displacing the rest of the teams on the grid. But now, with the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend over, it is time to think about Saudi Arabia, where the second race of the championship will take place on Sunday at the Jeddah circuit. Will Scuderia Ferrari be able to confirm the amazing outcome from Sakhir? Obviously, everything will also depend on the performance of Charles Leclerc (winner in Bahrain) and Carlos Sainz (P2 in Bahrain).
Former Scuderia Ferrari driver Jean Alesi wrote about all these topics in his usual in-depth analysis for Italian daily newsaper Il Corriere della Sera. We bring you an excerpt.
The former French driver, in his analysis, first of all expressed great emotion for the triumph of the Red team in Bahrain: “For those who, like me, hold Ferrari in a special place in their hearts, something unforgettable has happened”. Then he focused on the F1-75, underlining how great the car is and the fact that it is in safe hands: “A car that performs great in all conditions. It is the most beautiful car to see on the track. Then, the driver line-up formed by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz: I think they are the best driver pairing in the World Championship given to the character difference. Charles is gritty, he is instinctive. His race was impeccable, he passed Max Verstappen three times and all that he needs is a strong car, not even a monster”. – he continued.
