In an interview with Le Journal de Montreal, former Formula 1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve assessed the situation at Scuderia Ferrari, focusing on the delicate moment the Maranello team is going through. According to the Canadian, the Italian side is unable to establish a winning project due to continuous changes in leadership and the lack of a stable foundation to work on. Here is an excerpt of his remarks.
Jacques Villeneuve: “Instability is costing Ferrari dearly”
“Don’t just look at this year. When you keep changing directions like they do, you never have a stable foundation to work on. And we see that everyone is passing the blame, it’s never anyone’s fault. There’s no decision-making process, and this instability is costing Ferrari dearly. In the past ten years, they chose to return to their roots and be an Italian team, but it doesn’t seem to work, especially in Formula 1. In the process, the team has lost talented people, and rebuilding all of this takes a lot of time.” – Jacques Villeneuve explained, when asked by the Canadian media on Scuderia Ferrari’s difficult moment in Formula 1.
