Italian media outlines expectations for Ferrari's three-day event in Monza

The home race has finally arrived. Monza is ready to embrace Ferrari for the last European round of 2023. It has been a complex season so far for the Maranello team, which has only secured three podium finishes all year and currently sits in fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship. The results in Baku and Spa, the two tracks where Charles Leclerc, in particular, managed to shine the most, provide the illusion of a more satisfying weekend in the Temple of Speed than what happened in Zandvoort. In the Netherlands, the Prancing Horse could only limit the damage thanks to Carlos Sainz’s fifth-place finish.

The usual problem is represented by the technical characteristics of the SF-23 and the unpredictability of its performance. Certainly, compared to what was seen in Zandvoort, there should be no more testing in free practice, at least for this weekend. The characteristics of Monza are too unique for it to make sense to experiment with technical solutions here that could then be applied to other circuits or perhaps in 2024.

Italian journalist Fulvio Solms, writing for the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, has tried to outline in detail the expectations for the Italian three-day event for the Maranello team.

In short, a weekend […] that, on the one hand, allows for some breathing space, even talking about a possible podium, but on the other hand, condemns to give something to the audience.
