Scuderia Ferrari are ready for the start of the 2022 Formula 1 season and there are a lot of expectations for the Maranello team after the strong display in the pre-season testing session at the Bahrain Circuit. However, Ferrari are aware that Red Bull and Mercedes remain the teams to beat at the Bahrain GP, with the Scuderia’s drivers admitting they are not yet believing “the hype” around the team following a strong start to Formula 1 2022.
After an impressive pre-season testing – where the F1-75 car proved to be both reliable and fast – Ferrari are heading into the season-opening Bahrain GP as one of the favourites, which in itself is testament to their work preparing for the new rules following two years of fighting only for a place in the midfield zone.
Even in the main Italian newspapers, the view on the first race of the new F1 championship revolves mainly around the potential of F1-75 car. Mario Salvini analyzed Scuderia Ferrari’s prospects for the new campaign in a recent articole for Gazzetta dello Sport, drawing a profile of the 2022 car that he hopes will make the fans of the Maranello team dream again:
“The time is now […]. […] Everyone in Maranello is well aware that this is the year of truth. The one in which Ferrari has to get back in front, at least in a fight with Mercedes and Red Bulls […]. Well: the future has arrived […] and the F1-75 […] is able to bridge the gap. In the meantime, it has done more kilometers than everyone else […] the Ferrari cars have proven to be the most balanced, to be reliable. […] both contenders from the last exciting season, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, indicated Ferrari as favorite. It’s the usual game […] the GPS suggested that Red Bull and even the camouflaged Mercedes are worth more than they have shown. But Mattia Binotto guarantees that the deficit in terms of horsepower has been reduced. And the same rivals fear that the F1-75 is strong in slow corners […]. […] Above all, no one knows where others can arrive […]. But also in this sense there is an element that leads Ferrari to optimism: from the tests the hoped-for data correlation between the track and the simulations emerged […]. This is fundamental for the work of the coming weeks and months. […] “. – Gazzetta dello Sport reported.
