Lewis Hamilton set a record in his first season with Ferrari, but the news is largely negative. He is now the only driver to have competed in 19 races without ever reaching the podium, surpassing the previous record held by Didier Pironi of 18 races. The 2025 season was expected to have a completely different outcome for the Scuderia, yet Charles Leclerc managed seven podium finishes. While performances have improved, results have not followed, and in Mexico there was a stark contrast between the impressive form shown by Ollie Bearman and the mistakes of the seven-time world champion.
Allievi: “I would let him grow before promoting him”
Pino Allievi commented on Ollie Bearman’s recent form: “Bearman is someone who, wow, has scored points multiple times in the last few races. Sixth in the Netherlands, then ninth in Singapore and ninth in the United States. Fourth in Mexico, he is undoubtedly on the rise. He’s very fast. He’s a driver who takes many risks, so often he makes mistakes, ending up off track, or he attempts daring overtakes. I would let him develop further before promoting him to Ferrari. Someone with Hamilton’s experience knows that the runoff area is there, and Max Verstappen was ahead. The penalty was fair.” – the Italian journalist explained following the Mexican Grand Prix weekend.
Nicoli: “This weekend everything went wrong for him”
Stefano Nicoli added: “In my opinion, this weekend went completely wrong for him because he did not drive slowly. So, I would wait to see him in a new generation of cars, assuming that he hasn’t fully adapted to this generation with ground effect.” These were the insights of Pino Allievi and Stefano Nicoli on the podcast ‘Terruzzi Racconta’. Before declaring Hamilton’s chapter with Ferrari over, the 2026 season must be awaited, which will introduce a new era in Formula 1. However, Oliver Bearman is certainly destined to don the Prancing Horse’s colors in the near future.
