Italian GP 2026 weather update: Monza temperatures to peak at 35°C

Ferrari F1 fans Tifosi

The 2026 Italian Grand Prix at Monza is expected to take place in hot and dry conditions throughout the weekend, with temperatures peaking at 35°C during Saturday qualifying. After severe storms and hail affected northern Italy only a week earlier, the latest weather forecast points to a completely different picture for Formula 1’s visit to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

Summer heat has already returned across several provinces in northern Italy in recent days, and Monza is experiencing the same conditions ahead of the Grand Prix. Drivers, teams and the thousands of spectators attending Ferrari’s home race will therefore have to prepare for consistently high temperatures across all three days.

The heatwave is expected to provide a demanding test for the drivers, while spectators heading to the circuit may want to make sure they have plenty of water available. According to the latest forecast, this year’s Italian Grand Prix should once again be held predominantly under the sun, with no significant threat of rain at any stage of the weekend.

Fans attending the circuit can also check the latest information surrounding tickets and attendance for the 2026 Italian Grand Prix, with Monza preparing for another major Formula 1 weekend.

Temperatures to reach 35°C during Saturday qualifying

According to data provided by AccuWeather.com, maximum temperatures are not expected to fall below 33°C at any point during the weekend. Friday, when Formula 1’s practice sessions take place, should bring the clearest skies, with a maximum temperature of 34°C.

Conditions are expected to become partly sunny on Saturday, but temperatures will rise further to a weekend-high 35°C. That means qualifying is set to take place during the hottest part of the Italian Grand Prix weekend.

Sunday should be slightly cooler, although temperatures are still forecast to reach 33°C. Some cloud cover is expected, but the probability of rain remains extremely low at just four per cent.

The wider 2026 Formula 1 calendar continues immediately after Monza, but for Ferrari and its rivals the immediate challenge will be managing three days of sustained summer heat at one of the fastest circuits of the season.
