“It would be great to drive a Ferrari on a race weekend” – Mick Schumacher

Mick Schumacher interview for sport.sky.de ahead of the Race Of Champions this weekend:

Is driving for Ferrari the goal?
Mick Schumacher: “My goal this year is to be as far ahead as possible with Haas. What happens in the future, we’ll see. Obviously it also depends on what happens this year with Haas. If I do well there, hopefully it will go in the right direction next year”

Mick on becoming the reserve driver of Ferrari: “It would be great to drive a Ferrari on a race weekend but the main focus is on HAAS. If Ferrari needs the support, then I am obviously there.”

Mick Schumacher on racing with Sebastian Vettel at the Race Of Champions this weekend: “We are both very excited. Seb goes into the race without any practice, I will do the practice and let‘s see if it will pay off. But I think the main thing is to have fun!”

It wasn‘t clear whether Gary Gannon will still be Mick‘s race engineer in his second Formula 1 season with Haas (or if there will be a swap) but the Ferrari Driver Academy member confirmed that Gary stays as his race engineer.

Mick Schumacher also confirmed that he spent his winter break in Texas at the Schumacher ranch with his sister Gina. He created a personal gym there, rode horses (but he prefers more horse power), drove a buggy, did some archery.
