The “war” between Scuderia Ferrari and Red Bull is also fought out on social media. While Ferrari had to settle for a third-place finish in the 2023 Formula 1 constructor’s championship (considering how the season went), Red Bull clinched the title well in advance.
It wasn’t a positive Formula 1 season for the Maranello team. In contrast, Red Bull had already asserted its dominance from Bahrain. From the very first race of the 2023 championship, we knew that the Austrian team would emerge victorious on all fronts.
While Max Verstappen almost seemed bored behind the wheel of an otherworldly RB19, Ferrari drivers endured a season marked by suffering, with highs and lows. The promises for 2023 from the Prancing Horse were broken, but starting this year, it seems there’s a change in tune at Maranello. No proclamations: Fred Vasseur is working on a “silent” reconstruction of the team. Hopeful statements for a 2024 where Ferrari can—and must—return to competitiveness are not lacking.
On this very aspect, a Red Bull mechanic made an ironic comment on social media, which many interpreted as a subtle dig. Behind the thin veil of humor, could there be a grain of truth?
“The preseason cannot be officially considered started until some random newspaper claims that Ferrari has found a million horses during the winter,” writes Calum Nicholas. The Red Bull mechanic poked fun at the numerous rumors and speculations that have circulated in recent weeks.

Charles Leclerc was more competitive in the start of the 2022 Formula 1 season. Due to reliability issues, strategy errors, and the drivers’ mistakes, Ferrari missed the opportunity to fight for the championship. The 2023 F1 season was dreadful for the team. However, with increased technical research and development, the Scuderia started to approach the top. Carlos Sainz is the only non-Red Bull driver to have won a race last year, thanks to his performance at the Marina Bay street circuit in Singapore.
