The film inspired by the book ‘Enzo Ferrari – The Man, the machine’, written by Brock Yates, is taking shape. According to the newspaper The Film Stage, “The entire film tells three months of Enzo Ferrari’s life, during the summer of 1957. It is a drama and it is melodramatic. Everything he has been collides with what he could become. The company is failing. His wife finds out about the other woman. It’s a spectacular melodrama in real life“.
The cast and the main actors are already on Italian soil. In the cast, directed by Michael Mann, we find Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Sarah Gardon, Jack O’Connell and Patrick Dempsey. After shooting a few small scenes in the neighboring cities, the whole set of the film has now moved to Modena, where most of the film will be shot.
Modena is preparing to host the set of the new Enzo Ferrari film and transforms itself. The traffic lights, the advertisements, the parked cars change and the telephone booths of the past are back. The city takes a dip in the past to return to the late 1950s. Past and present mix on the streets of the city, creating a unique atmosphere. The American language of the actors is masculated with the Italian of the working children and the Modena dialect of the curious passers..
Hollywood production does not indulge much in curiosity, but there are many people who went to Modena in the hope of being able to meet some internationally renowned actor. The most anticipated are certainly Penelope Cruz, who will play the Drake’s wife, Adam Driver and Patrick Dempsey.
The Hollywood cast has also revived the local tourism. Not only did it attract the presence of numerous fans, but it also spurred overnights in the city. This was explained by Amedeo Faenza, president of Federalberghi Modena, regional and national vice president and president of the Tourism Council of Confcommercio. In fact, he said an interview for Il Resto del Carlino that they are hosting a large number of people who work on the production of the film about Enzo Ferrari, who enjoy their stay in the city.

In recent days, Patrick Dempsey has also been seen in Modena. The 56-year-old actor, who made himself known to the general public for wearing the surgical gown in the successful Gray’s Anatomy series, will play Piero Taruffi in the film dedicated to Enzo Ferrari.
