With about two months before the Imola event, the organizers of the Made in Italy and Emilia Romagna Grand Prix are hard at work. The goal is to increase the number of tickets available and make it easier for fans to arrive at the race track by signing some agreements with Trenitalia. From tickets to trains, here are some news for the F1 2023 Imola Grand Prix.
Ticket increase for F1 Imola GP
The newspaper “Il Resto del Carlino” reports Formula Imola’s intentions to increase the number of tickets available to fans for the weekend in Emilia Romagna. The goal – as reported by the Italian newspaper – is to allow access to the racetrack to 20,000 more people a day.
The confirmation also comes from Giancarlo Minardi, president of Formula Imola itself: “We want to increase the daily capacity from 73,000 to 93,000 people”. Last year, recalls the Italian newspaper, attendance settled at around 130,000.
How will capacity be increased? The solution leads to the introduction of temporary grandstands and the recovery of “seven or eight thousand seats from the ‘ecological’ stands of the Tosa, an area undergoing work in recent weeks”, writes the Resto del Carlino.
When tickets will be available it is not yet clear, but they will be made available later by the ACI (Automobile Club d’Italia). At the moment the reserves are running out, for Sundays – for example – only general admission tickets are still on sale. Giancarlo Minardi explains: “For now, those already available are running out, 70% has already been sold”.

Special trains
To deal with any traffic problems, with the aim of blocking traffic as little as possible, the organizers are working to prepare some special trains.
The mayor of Imola, Marco Panieri, has already announced it for some time. When presenting the races that are scheduled to take place this year at the circuit, an event held a few days ago, the mayor revealed the idea of organizing the transit of some high-speed Frecciarossa and Frecciabianca trains: “We are working on it with Trenitalia”. Finally, he has also confirmed the possibility of organizing shuttle buses for the furthest car parks.
The “Imola 70” app
The Imola circuit turns 70. To celebrate this special event, one of the initiatives is the development of the official “Imola 70” application. It will allow you to consult all the useful information on the 2023 events at Imola.
