The Imola circuit has been part of the Formula 1 calendar for the last years, but the future is still uncertain. A story that dates from 1980 to 2006, only to return to being part of the premier class in the last two years. The reason for this last choice is linked to the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to focus on races in Europe. It is therefore considered a temporary choice, which many would like to see repeated in the next few years.

The history of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit is indeed noteworthy and is not yet ready to stop. Not only the most passionate fans, but also the organizers of the race would like to bring the event back to the official calendar, stating: “This racetrack is not a museum”.
The event was focused on the Italian territory, starting from the name of the event up to the delivery of the prizes: “Thanks to Stefano Bonaccini and the Emilia Romagna region, this Grand Prix has allowed the Motor Valley to represent the spirit of Made in Italy which includes artisans and small businesses,” said the Italian Foreign Minister. Explaining the importance of advertising Italian products in front of millions of viewers.
The region represents a fundamental building block in the engine sector and the Imola circuit is a striking example of this. “ We will work to have another Grand Prix at Imola next year, it should become a fixed event. It made the history of this sport and we do not want to see it as a museum but as the future of Formula 1″ – said the minister, also referring to the words of former Ferrari boss and current Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali who cited the track as a unique legacy that must be preserved.
