How Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz spent their holidays | F1 summer break. F1 summer break.

A long relaxation break before getting back on track: here’s how the F1 drivers spent their holidays.

Three weeks of vacation to recharge their batteries, and then the F1 drivers will return to the track. In this scorching August, Verstappen and the others are enjoying a long and well-deserved rest before getting back in the car.

The appointment with Formula 1 is right at the home of the Dutchman, just a step away from clinching his third title. On Sunday, August 27th, the race will take place at Zandvoort, the circuit that marks the beginning of the second half of the 2023 season.

Do you want to know where and how the F1 drivers spent their holidays? Let’s find out together.

Max Verstappen spent his vacation in Sardinia, alongside his long-term girlfriend Kelly Piquet and his family. However, what made headlines was Verstappen’s viral look on social media. The driver was spotted on the beach wearing flip-flops, carrying an Eurospin bag, and wearing swim trunks with clamshell patterns. Verstappen was first in La Maddalena, where he and Kelly Piquet had lunch at the La Scogliera restaurant in Porto Massimo, and then in Portisco.

Sergio Pérez, on the other hand, spent his vacation in Guadalajara, his hometown in Mexico. As seen from his Instagram stories, the driver took advantage of the summer break to spend time with his family and friends. He visited some iconic places in the area, including the Hospicio Cabañas, the Guadalajara Cathedral, and the Guadalajara Regional Museum.

Fernando Alonso made a visit to his home country, Spain, to enjoy a few days of well-deserved rest at the Museo y Circuito Fernando Alonso. It’s an automotive and karting museum dedicated to the two-time world champion.

Lewis Hamilton had a super-secret vacation, apparently in Ibiza in sweet company. According to various international tabloids, the seven-time Mercedes world champion was seen with Shakira, the Colombian artist with whom there have been rumors of a possible relationship for several months. The scoop was first revealed by the Spanish program Y Ahora Sonsoles.

Scuderia Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz chose the same destinations for their vacations, although they didn’t cross paths. Between Corsica and Sardinia, both drivers were in different locations (including Porto Cervo) with their respective friends. Leclerc was also with his girlfriend Alexandra Saint Mleux, while Sainz was seen for the first time with his new flame, Scottish model Rebecca Donaldson.

There are also Formula 1 drivers who had the opportunity to spend some carefree hours together. This was the case for George Russell and Daniel Ricciardo, who met with their respective girlfriends at an event by DJ Martin Garrix. Lando Norris had a single vacation, relaxing by the sea with his family, and then he joined his friend Verstappen at the Tomorrowland festival: the two were spotted together in a helicopter.

Pierre Gasly and Portuguese model Francisca Gomes are now a well-established couple in the Formula 1 paddock; the two spent the summer in Portugal and then in Morocco, along with friends.
