A Weekend of Passion in Imola with the Minardi Day
The intense program of the event, conceived by the Minardi family in collaboration with Formula Imola, not only warms the hearts of enthusiasts with fantastic Formula 1 cars (starting from 1961 with the De Tomaso Alfa Romeo Conrero, an integral part of the Alfa Romeo Dynamic Museum, historic competition cars from Scuderia del Portello to the Williams FW33), F2, F3, F3000, GP2, Historic GTs, Alfa Romeos from R.I.A.R, Prototypes, concept cars like the unique Maserati 320S, as well as Supercars and Hypercars from Pagani, Lamborghini, Dallara, Alpine, Pambuffetti PJ01, all ready to take to the track (with fifteen sessions each day) to tackle the 19 turns along the 4909 meters of the circuit.
The event is also enriched by the ACI Storico Festival, celebrating the “100 years of the Circuito del Savio”: it was June 17, 1923, when a young Enzo Ferrari, driving the Alfa Romeo RL Targa Florio with number 28, won the first Circuito del Savio.
On the occasion of the centenary of the Circuito del Savio, on Sunday, August 27th, the unmissable Terre di Romagna Rally “100 YEARS OF THE CIRCUITO DEL SAVIO” returns. A day entirely dedicated to passion, culture, and the territory. Starting from the Imola Racetrack, the convoy will cross the Romagna countryside, passing through Lugo and Ravenna, including a stretch of the original circuit. In the afternoon, the rally will start from the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare in Classe and then return to the track with the closing parade of the event (Information and registrations: https://minardiday.it/raduno-terrediromagna/).
To celebrate the “100 years of the Circuito del Savio,” the Motor Valley Showroom at the Checco Costa Museum of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Racetrack in Imola reopened to the public on July 28th with the exhibition “100 Years of Automotive Passion in Romagna.”
Through the display of vintage vehicles and digital photos, the exhibition aims to narrate the passion for motorsport in a territory, Romagna, which continues to burn intensely even today, and to evoke the protagonists and the most significant automotive events of the last hundred years of history.

Among others, cars from the years 1923-1927 that were already protagonists in the editions of the “Circuito del Savio” will be exhibited, along with some iconic cars that have made history in Formula 1, including a dedicated area for AlphaTauri. All of this will be enriched by digital images projected on screens showing the evolution of the Imola track. Thanks to the close collaboration and friendly relationship with the Historic Minardi Day, the Scuderia Tazio Nuvolari has provided unique pieces for the exhibition, such as the 1922 Itala 51 Sport, the 1924 Lancia Lambda Sport Torpedo, and the 1927 Bugatti T37. These cars are “siblings” that participated in various editions of the Circuito del Savio. Collector and driver Venanzio Fonte has made the extraordinary 1924 Alfa Romeo RL Targa Florio available to visitors, curated by Bonfanti Garage, which is the sister car of the Alfa Romeo RL Targa Florio number 28, with which the young Enzo Ferrari won the first edition of the Circuito del Savio a hundred years ago. From Pierluigi Martini’s collection, the Tyrrell P34 6-wheeler and the Ferrari 126 C4 (formerly driven by Michele Alboreto) will also be showcased.
As a testament to modern Formula 1 and the continuity of international competitions on the territory with the return of the Imola track to the Formula 1 World Championship calendar, AlphaTauri celebrates the occasion with the STR05 (which was part of the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship with Sébastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari) and the 2022 AlphaTauri livery.
In addition, visitors to the Museum’s Shop will be able to purchase the commemorative book “Imola, il romanzo dell’autodromo” (Imola, the Racetrack’s Novel), authored by Pino Allievi and part of the collection from FormulaPassion.it, curated by Mauro Coppini, with the coordination of Antonio Azzano. The book was created to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Racetrack.
The exhibition will be open to the public until Sunday, September 10th. During the Historic Minardi Day, admission will be included in the event ticket, which is already available for purchase on TicketOne (https://www.ticketone.it/artist/historic-minardi-day/) and authorized TicketOne sales points. A single ticket will grant access to the most exclusive areas of the facility, allowing participants to experience the event as protagonists.
