A difficult start to the Brazilian weekend
Lewis Hamilton’s first day in Brazil was far from easy. The British driver faced difficulties from the opening free practice session, where a spin highlighted the SF-25’s lack of drivability. Charles Leclerc experienced similar struggles during the Sprint Qualifying, confirming the two drivers’ ongoing challenges with the Modenese car. Naturally, Lewis Hamilton was not satisfied with the result, though he maintained the positive attitude he has shown since the post-summer break.
Lewis Hamilton’s thoughts after Sprint Qualifying
Lewis Hamilton said, “The yellow flags certainly didn’t help, but it’s not due to a lack of effort. The team believed we were much faster than we actually are. It’s hard to say we are heading in the right direction when you’re eliminated in SQ2. But we are working hard, so I can’t say much more. It’s just that we aren’t fast enough. Now I’m 11th, I just have to enjoy it a little from there. At this point, I think it’s just about having fun. My year hasn’t gone well, and I just have to enjoy it wherever I am, and that’s all I can do.”
Lewis Hamilton’s words reveal a certain resignation, reflecting the struggles he has faced throughout a season that has been far from easy. The #44 driver has never quite found the breakthrough, although he has come close on several occasions. In recent races, he has shown significant progress, even if he has yet to reach the podium with Ferrari, partly due to misfortune, as seen in Mexico. Nevertheless, the Brazilian weekend is still long, and there is still opportunity for the English driver to climb back up the order. Lewis Hamilton is expected to give his all to maximize his performance in his second home race of the season.
