Who can be identified as the achievers and underperformers of 2023? To distinguish the standout performers from the areas needing improvement, The Race has evaluated all 10 Formula 1 teams based on their performance during the opening half of the season.
Our assessment approach is straightforward and draws inspiration from school report cards. Each team will receive a letter grade spanning from A to E, which mirrors their overall proficiency.
Within this framework, there exist three subdivisions – such as C plus, C, or C minus – with the addition or subtraction (or absence thereof) signifying the team’s overall implementation in terms of optimizing the machinery and generating consistent progress throughout the initial half of the season.
And it’s important to note, we are appraising teams based on their performance in relation to expectations. This implies that a team projected to be in the lower ranks that’s exceeding expectations will earn a higher grade compared to a potential championship contender that’s failing to deliver the expected outcomes.
