When French manager Frederic Vasseur took over the reins of Scuderia Ferrari about a year ago, fans were hopeful that his skills and experience would help the Maranello team return to victory. After all, the not-so-great internal management was one of the factors that had led the team to falter against Red Bull in the 2022 Formula 1 world championship. However, the track record, just two races from the end of the current season, is not exactly positive, thanks to an uncompetitive car and an impeccable RB19 single-seater, which was far superior to the compeition.
It is certainly still early to judge, but Italian journalist Giorgio Terruzzi wanted to express some concerns, criticizing the management of the Frenchman.
“Have we seen any new ingredients for improvement with Fred Vasseur’s arrival? Ferrari still makes mistakes in strategies, secures poles, and doesn’t win races. People are leaving Maranello, and no one is coming in. The pre or post-race statements from the team principal are almost surreal. It seems like a very negative balance. I don’t understand how a leader can say, ‘This team needs to improve.’ Where is he? He criticizes the strategies, but where is he when they are decided? He promised the arrival of buses of qualified people in Maranello, but there are no announcements,” the Italian journalist said in his latest podcast.
