It must be said that Fred Vasseur is rock solid. With a Ferrari that is not competitive enough to challenge McLaren and Red Bull, the French team principal always finds a way to give hope to the Prancing Horse’s fans: as in Imola, also in the Principality—the second race of the triple-header—the strongest fan presence will be the Italians, and the Scuderia will try to defend itself as best as it can on a track that does not seem to suit the characteristics of the SF-25.
The car struggles in slow sections, and therefore comes to Monte Carlo aiming to optimise the potential available. Fred Vasseur gave some insight into the work done in preparation for this round…
“The Monaco Grand Prix is a unique race. We know how crucial qualifying is, and in recent days we’ve worked precisely to improve our single-lap performance, after not being able to make the most of our package on Saturdays in the last few events.”
Fred Vasseur also hinted that a detailed study of the strategy for Sunday has been carried out in Maranello, especially with the new mandatory double pit stop rule…
“This weekend sees the debut of a novelty in the sporting regulations that introduces an extra challenge for the Monaco race. Each driver will have to make at least two pit stops, with the aim of giving more importance to strategy and increasing on-track action. Of course, it’s Charles’s home race, which makes this event special for the whole team, who are determined to put both him and Lewis in a position to achieve the best performance possible.” – the French manager concluded ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
