Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur has returned to the Monaco Grand Prix paddock and is present with the Scuderia ahead of today’s race, which is scheduled to start at 15:00 local Italian time.
The Frenchman has recovered from the health issue that kept him away from the circuit on Saturday and will now be alongside the team as Ferrari prepares for one of the most important races of the season.
Frédéric Vasseur will be on the pit wall supporting both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, who are set to start the Monaco Grand Prix from third and fourth on the grid respectively after a closely contested qualifying session around the streets of Monte Carlo.
Back with the team on race day
Concerns over Frédéric Vasseur’s condition had already been eased by Charles Leclerc following qualifying. The Monegasque driver explained that even though the Ferrari team principal was not physically present with the team at the circuit, he had remained heavily involved throughout Saturday’s activities and continued to support the squad remotely.
Frédéric Vasseur was absent from the paddock on Saturday after undergoing medical examinations and being kept under observation at a local healthcare facility.
His return on race day is welcome news for Ferrari as the team looks to challenge for a strong result in Monaco with both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc starting near the front of the field.
