How Ferrari Is Preparing for the F1 Austrian GP
Ferrari is eagerly anticipating the next two Formula 1 rounds, as the races in Spielberg and Silverstone are expected to reveal the real performance level the SF-25 can deliver in the second half of the season. According to reports from Autoracer, the Austrian Grand Prix will see the debut of a new floor—a key update ahead of the modified rear suspension expected to follow. Ferrari engineers hope this development will help resolve several of the issues that have plagued the car so far this season. However, team principal Frédéric Vasseur has not officially confirmed the upgrade, instead emphasizing how crucial it is to “put everything together” on a short and demanding track like the Red Bull Ring.

The Austrian circuit has the lowest lap time on the entire F1 calendar, even though it’s not the shortest in distance—that title goes to Monaco, where speeds are much lower. With many laps to complete and gaps expected to be smaller than usual, race execution—a topic Frédéric Vasseur often highlights—becomes more crucial than ever.
“The Spielberg circuit takes just over a minute to complete, which means the time gaps are very tight, and even a few thousandths of a second can make a big difference,” the French manager explained in Ferrari’s traditional race weekend preview.
“Being able to bring all the elements together will be essential. Seven of the ten corners are right-handers, and the significant elevation changes make the challenge even tougher. We’ve been working hard in Maranello to combine all the necessary factors to achieve the best possible performance. Charles, Lewis, and the entire team are determined to deliver their best on a track that often provides one of the most exciting races of the season,” Ferrari team boss Frédéric Vasseur concluded.
