Ferrari targets another strong weekend at the Belgian Grand Prix
Ferrari heads into the Belgian Grand Prix full of confidence after delivering one of its most impressive performances of the 2026 Formula 1 season at Silverstone. The Scuderia stunned rivals by claiming victory on a circuit that, on paper, appeared much better suited to Mercedes, proving once again that the SF-26 is continuing to evolve into a genuine contender at the front of the field.
Attention now turns to Spa-Francorchamps, one of the most demanding and iconic venues on the Formula 1 calendar. The Belgian Grand Prix will provide another major test for Ferrari, with the high-speed nature of the circuit and its notoriously unpredictable weather expected to challenge both the drivers and the engineers throughout the weekend.
Following Ferrari’s breakthrough victory at Silverstone, the big question is whether the SF-26 can confirm its competitiveness once again at Spa and continue building momentum in the fight at the front of the championship.
“We arrive at Spa-Francorchamps knowing that a particularly demanding weekend lies ahead of us,” said Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur. “It’s one of the toughest races on the calendar, both because of the characteristics of the circuit and because of the Ardennes weather, which is often changeable and unpredictable.”
Fred Vasseur also highlighted the strength of Ferrari’s teamwork and praised the collaboration between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, something that has become an increasingly important asset as the Scuderia continues developing the SF-26 throughout the 2026 Formula 1 season.
“We know we can rely on a united team that continues to push in the same direction, and on two drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, who work very well together and constantly push each other every time they go out on track,” Vasseur added. “Once again this weekend, our objective will be to maximise the result and make sure we execute every detail as well as possible, from the first session all the way to the chequered flag.”
Ferrari arrives at the Belgian Grand Prix encouraged by the progress shown over recent races, but the Maranello team is fully aware that Spa-Francorchamps presents a completely different challenge. Success will depend not only on extracting maximum performance from the SF-26 but also on adapting to changing weather conditions, optimising energy management and executing every aspect of the weekend flawlessly. Another strong result in Belgium would further strengthen Ferrari’s growing confidence and provide another important indication of the Scuderia’s championship potential.
