Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal, Frédéric Vasseur, believes that teams should trust Formula 1, and the Las Vegas Grand Prix will turn out to be a success.
Looking ahead to the third and final weekend in the United States this year, several paddock members have expressed their concerns about the American circuit, especially due to the extremely low temperatures expected.
The street circuit in Nevada will be the venue for the city’s inaugural race since the Caesars Palace Grand Prix in 1982, which, in the end, was removed from the calendar long before its contract expiration. The French manager believes that, despite the difficulties expected by all teams, the race will be a success.
Fred Vasseur’s comments:
Here are his statements on the matter: “Sure, Las Vegas will be tough, but I think everyone expects it to be tough. It will be more than a night race. It could be… I don’t know what. The conditions will be very, very cold, but it’s a new circuit with a unique layout,” he added.
The Frenchman believes that the Maranello team has an opportunity to gain valuable points on Mercedes: “We have to take it as an opportunity to get closer to Mercedes.”
Finally, addressing the concern surrounding the event, he stated: “We have to trust them [the organizers]. If you look at Miami last year, it went quite well, at least from the race perspective. The track was well-prepared, and it will be the same for Las Vegas.” – he concluded.
Will Frederic Vasseur be right, or will all the teams’ fears become reality? We have to wait until next week to find out, but this kind of apprehension toward a Grand Prix hasn’t been seen in a long time.
