Now, the focus will be on maximizing points, especially in the fight for second place in the Constructors’ Championship. Notably, Charles Leclerc managed to save a set of soft tires for the race, which could prove to be a crucial advantage in strategic planning.
Comments from Ferrari’s Team Principal
At the end of qualifying, Fred Vasseur shared his thoughts on the team’s strong performance on Saturday in Mexico City. The French manager explained that Ferrari had been very effective in the preparation laps and in managing tire cooling. “We have been pushing the limits with temperatures all weekend, and from the very start, we focused on maximizing the package available,” he said.
Frederic Vasseur also pointed out the challenges of the Mexico City circuit. He highlighted the importance of reaching the final sector with the tires in optimal condition, noting that cooling is always an issue due to the altitude and the car’s downforce. The team is satisfied with their conservative choices for the race. The French manager added that managing the slipstream into Turn 1 will be key, as starting second or third often provides an advantage on this track. With clean air, Ferrari could aim for a strong result, though the Maranello team is currently focused on the race itself rather than predicting outcomes.
