The official announcement of Lewis Hamilton joining Scuderia Ferrari from 2025 has shaken the world of Formula 1, but not only that. Even motorcycle racers, including Francesco Bagnaia and Marco Bezzecchi, have expressed their enthusiasm.
February 1, 2024, is a historic date that everyone will remember because it’s the day when, after years of rumors and speculations, Lewis Hamilton’s move to Scuderia Ferrari from 2025 was officially confirmed. Throughout his career, Lewis Hamilton changed teams only once in 2012 when he left McLaren to join the Mercedes project. It was a partnership that allowed him to secure 6 World Championships, 82 victories, 148 podiums, and 78 pole positions but will come to an end after two seasons in which, for the first time, he didn’t achieve a single victory.
It’s news that has impacted not only the world of Formula 1 but the entire motorsport community. On the occasion of the “Golden Helmets” awards organized by Motosprint, several riders shared their opinions, speaking to SkySport.
Comments from Francesco Bagnaia:
“It was something that went beyond routine every year. For me, it’s a good thing; I’ve always been a fan of Lewis and Ferrari, so having them together will be fantastic, and I hope it will bring something really good.”
Comments from Marco Bezzecchi:
“I’m a Formula 1 enthusiast; I follow it, but with the transfer market, I wasn’t up to date, and I was surprised. It’s beautiful because Lewis is a fantastic driver, and having him in Ferrari will be awesome for us Italians, who are super passionate. We hope he can give us beautiful emotions, but he will definitely do that.”
Comments from Andrea Dovizioso:
“Is it confirmed? Because I thought it was a bit of fake news. It’s a bomb; I would never have expected it. Seeing the battle between Hamilton and Leclerc will be beautiful.”
Comments from Nicolò Bulega:
“It’s nice that there’s another great champion with Ferrari, which is Italian, and we all support it, so we hope he can do well.”

“I’ve always been a fan of Lewis Hamilton; I like him as a person. Having him at Ferrari for Italy and the brand is certainly excellent. I hope he can do what unfortunately he didn’t do this year, and Ferrari can give him a competitive car.”
