The long-awaited deal between Formula 1, the FIA, and the 11 teams that will compete from 2026 has officially been signed. The agreement, effective from 2026, will last for five years, running through the 2030 season.
Liberty Media and the FIA confirmed that the ninth Concorde Agreement has been finalized, outlining the commercial and governance framework for Formula 1 from 2026 to the end of 2030.
The process began last March with the initial Commercial Agreement between the teams, and nine months later, all bureaucratic steps were completed, ensuring F1 has a clear structure for both governance and commercial terms until 2030.
The renewal of the 2026–2030 Concorde Agreement was not the fastest, with FIA discussions stretching to the last possible moment. The signing confirms that Liberty Media, the FIA, and the teams are fully aligned on the commercial and governance structures that will support the next five years of the sport.
Under the new terms, the FIA will have the resources to further invest in improved regulations, race management, stewards, and technical expertise—all to benefit the championship.
“Today is an important day for Formula 1,” commented Stefano Domenicali. “As we celebrate 75 years of this incredible sport, we are proud to write the next chapter in our long and extraordinary history. This agreement positions Formula 1 to continue growing around the world.”
“I want to thank FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem and all the teams for their collaboration and determination in achieving the best outcomes for the sport during our discussions. We have much to be proud of, but we are also focused on the opportunities and the exciting potential of Formula 1 in the years ahead.”
“The ninth Concorde Agreement secures the long-term future of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship,” said Mohammed Ben Sulayem. “I am proud of the dedication that went into this process. I want to thank Stefano Domenicali and his team for a strong collaboration, which has allowed us to create a framework based on fairness, stability, and shared ambition.”
“This agreement allows us to continue modernizing our regulatory, technological, and operational capabilities, including support for race directors, officials, and the thousands of volunteers whose expertise underpins every Grand Prix. We are ensuring that Formula 1 remains at the forefront of technological innovation, setting new standards in global motorsport.”
The Concorde Agreement has kept Formula 1 together since 1981. The ninth edition just made sure the party continues until at least 2030.
