Formula 1 chief executive officer Stefano Domenicali stated that he holds great respect for Red Bull, explaining that it is now fair to place them on the same historical level as Scuderia Ferrari and McLaren. During a recent interview, he was asked if Red Bull’s dominance is having a negative impact on Formula 1.
“I would say, first of all, it is the right time to celebrate the incredible work that Red Bull has done with this car. When you see the others and where they are, it’s amazing how they are doing an extraordinary job. But this has always been part of Formula 1. And I would say it’s part of the game. I am quite sure that in the next two years, doubts about the technical choices to be made will be reduced.” – the former Ferrari team principal explained.
For Stefano Domenicali, this confirms that Red Bull is a team that deserves to be mentioned among the greats in history, alongside Ferrari, McLaren, or Lotus, a statement which is difficult to accept for many Formula 1 fans, especially the Tifosi:
“It is also the need to confirm the legacy of a team. Red Bull knows how to do special things and must enter Formula 1’s history as such.” – the Formula 1 chief executive officer concluded.
