At the end of the first practice session for the 2017 Spanish Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton was fastest by less than a tenth from team-mate Valtteri Bottas in an upgraded Mercedes, which could prove cause for concern, as Kimi Raikkonan and Sebastian Vettel finished one second behind the Mercedes duo, with best lap times set on the Medium tyre. Scuderia Ferrari’s German driver also suffered a small problem on the left rear wheel in the early stages, which was quickly fixed and Seb managed to complete the first practice session.
