There are drivers who, even after retiring, continue to exert a special charm in the paddock. Sebastian Vettel is one of them—he captivates, moves an entire grid with his initiatives, which, since his retirement from Formula 1, have become a model for new generations.
The former Ferrari driver has addressed various issues, among which the fight for the environment and equal opportunities in motorsport stand out. It is precisely the latter that is at the heart of “Race4Women”, the campaign that involves young Saudi women in the world of racing. Launched in 2021, it returns this year with the aim of offering more women this opportunity.
On his social media profiles, Sebastian Vettel announced that 20 girls will take to the track in a karting tournament together with the German: “Since 2018, in Saudi Arabia, women have been allowed to obtain a driver’s license. We celebrated this positive change in 2021 with the first #RACE4WOMEN event on a karting track in Jeddah,” wrote the German in his post.
“What was just a first taste of karting has become a real passion for some of these women. Change doesn’t happen overnight, but I’d love to see more strong women at the top of motorsport.” Race4Women thus makes its return, reaffirming Sebastian Vettel’s commitment to promoting a more inclusive culture, where women also deserve to dream—and achieve—a future in motorsport.
