In Florida, the curtains have fallen on Saturday’s qualifying session: let’s discover together the starting grid for the 2024 F1 Miami GP.
Note – Race stewards during Q3 “noticed” a possible impeding by Carlos Sainz on Nico Hulkenberg. Shortly after, Race Control cleared Ferrari: “No further action” against Carlos Sainz.
The qualifying session for the Miami GP didn’t provide, fortunately, much work for the stewards. There were only three abnormal incidents reported to the race officials. Zhou and Gasly were reprimanded for leaving the pit lane in a manner inconsistent with the instructions given by the race director. Then once again, the Sauber driver from China came under investigation for crossing the white line when exiting the pit lane.
Decisions regarding Zhou and Gasly
After hearing from the drivers and team representatives, the stewards decided not to impose any penalties on Gasly, while it was decided to issue a warning to Zhou for not following the race director’s instructions when leaving the pits and a reprimand (the first of the season) for crossing the white line when rejoining the track from the pit lane. These rulings have no impact on the starting grid.
