Welcome to 2024
Formula 1 officially enters 2024. Today, the FIA has published the official entry list for the upcoming season, which includes the various team names, chassis, and engine manufacturers, along with the names of the participating drivers.
The main curiosity revolved around the former Alfa Romeo and AlphaTauri teams, poised to change their names. As expected, the Swiss team has reverted to being called Sauber, linking itself to the Stake and Kick.com brands as title sponsors.
Many confirmations
The situation for the Faenza-based team is more peculiar, as it retains the name AlphaTauri but adds the acronym RB, which will also name the chassis. No official explanation has been provided, but it is widely assumed that it is an abbreviation of the name Racing Bulls, which has been circulating insistently in recent days.
There are no changes for the other eight registered teams, which retain the same names as the just-concluded year. Regarding Ferrari, in particular, the 2024 Formula 1 season will be the third consecutive year in which the Italian team will be simply renamed Scuderia Ferrari, without the addition of a title sponsor. There is no additional brand alongside the team name for the other two ‘historic’ teams in the championship, McLaren and Williams.
