Scuderia Ferrari German driver Sebastian Vettel has fired a warning to Lewis Hamilton ahead of the 2019 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Sebastian Vettel has not had the ideal start to the season, finishing on the podium just once in the opening three race. The third-place in China a fortnight ago is the only dim light of a dark campaign thus far.
Even Red Bull’s Max Verstappen leads fourth-placed Sebastian Vettel in the Drivers’ Championship.
But the German still feels he will be fighting for the world title come the end of the season. “I am absolutely confident that I can become world champion,” he said.
Ferrari are expected to implement upgrades to their cars in Baku this weekend. But he is not sure if they will reap their rewards immediately.
“The turning point does not necessarily have to be Baku,” he added – “Baku is very different from the other circuits, but when the car improves, you often notice it on the other circuit. This is what we believe in. It has been decided to bring updates because we feel they are helping. We hope to get the same results as in the wind tunnel.”
Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel also thinks Red Bull will be up there come the end of the year.

“Going into the season after the test I think we looked in very good shape, we lost a bit of that but also Mercedes looked very strong and so did Red Bull,” he said.
“We expected it to be a three-way fight, which maybe it hasn’t been so far at all the races, but I certainly think that Red Bull will be one of the contenders as we go on.”
