The street circuit set in the Nevada desert might not perfectly suit McLaren, leaving an opening for their rivals. However, on tracks where Ferrari was expected to perform strongly this season, the results have often been disappointing, leaving some uncertainty within the Maranello camp.
The last opportunity to win
Ferrari remains the only top team yet to secure a victory in the 2025 Formula 1 season. With the championship nearing its conclusion, the chances are running out — but Las Vegas could represent the perfect opportunity to end the drought. According to Formula 1 journalist Lawrence Barretto, the conditions in the United States might favor both Ferrari and Mercedes.
“For Ferrari, it’s arguably the best opportunity to end their winless streak. The Italian team has managed to reach the podium every year at this circuit,” Lawrence Barretto stated, referring to the Las Vegas Grand Prix as a crucial moment for the Maranello squad.
He also pointed out that the race could reshape the Constructors’ standings: “[Las Vegas] is a real opportunity for one of the three teams fighting for second place to assert their authority. Max Verstappen hopes to find a way to win, but also for Ferrari and Mercedes to position themselves between him and the McLarens, allowing him to close the gap in the title fight,” added the British Formula 1 journalist.
