Charles Leclerc is now just one podium away from matching Sebastian Vettel and Rubens Barrichello for second place in Ferrari’s all-time Formula 1 podium ranking. The Monegasque has reached 54 top-three finishes for the Scuderia, moving ahead of several Ferrari world champions and closing in on another significant milestone, although Michael Schumacher’s extraordinary total of 116 remains far beyond everyone else.
From Michael Schumacher to Charles Leclerc, via Alberto Ascari, Niki Lauda and Gilles Villeneuve, Ferrari’s podium history brings together some of the greatest names ever to compete in Formula 1. Over more than seven decades of World Championship racing, dozens of drivers have had the opportunity to represent Maranello, but only a relatively small group have managed to leave a lasting statistical mark.
One of the most revealing measures is the number of podium finishes achieved for the team. Podiums reflect more than simply a driver’s ability to win: they also indicate consistency, the competitiveness of the car and, in many cases, the longevity of the relationship between driver and team. Looking through the ranking offers a journey across the different eras of Ferrari’s Formula 1 champions, from the pioneers of the 1950s to the leading figures of the modern era.
Ferrari F1 podium ranking: Michael Schumacher remains the benchmark
At the top of the standings is a name likely to remain out of reach for a very long time: Michael Schumacher, who recorded an astonishing 116 podium finishes with Ferrari. The figure perfectly illustrates the dominance Michael Schumacher and the Scuderia built together between the late 1990s and the first half of the 2000s.
Behind Michael Schumacher are Sebastian Vettel and Rubens Barrichello, tied on 55 podiums, while Charles Leclerc is now extremely close with 54. The Monegasque has already surpassed major champions including Kimi Räikkönen, who achieved 52 podiums, Fernando Alonso with 44 and Felipe Massa with 36, confirming Charles Leclerc as one of the most influential Ferrari drivers of the modern era.
His position has continued to strengthen in Ferrari’s historical statistics, with Charles Leclerc having already moved ahead of Kimi Räikkönen in another chapter of Ferrari history. The 2007 Formula 1 World Champion nevertheless remains one of the defining figures of the Scuderia’s more recent past, with his Ferrari career and championship legacy spanning two separate spells at Maranello.
The ranking also highlights how dramatically Formula 1 seasons have changed over the decades. Modern calendars contain well over 20 Grands Prix, whereas drivers competing in the 1950s and 1960s had considerably fewer races available each year. Comparisons based purely on absolute totals therefore require context, because contemporary drivers inevitably have many more opportunities to finish on the podium.

Ferrari’s podium list spans generations of Formula 1 history
Beyond the positions themselves, the ranking demonstrates the extraordinary depth of Ferrari’s history in Formula 1. Multiple world champions such as Michael Schumacher, Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Kimi Räikkönen, Juan Manuel Fangio and Lewis Hamilton appear alongside drivers remembered particularly for iconic performances and their emotional connection with Ferrari fans, including Gilles Villeneuve and Jean Alesi. Others played fundamental roles in the Scuderia’s history without accumulating record-breaking statistics.
There is another reason why the list carries such significance. Reaching the podium even once as a Ferrari Formula 1 driver is enough to enter an extremely exclusive group. Fewer than 60 drivers have achieved the feat since the Scuderia made its debut in the Formula 1 World Championship.
That figure underlines just how difficult it is not only to earn the opportunity to race a Ferrari, but also to convert that opportunity into a result that remains permanently recorded in Formula 1 history. Charles Leclerc is already firmly established among the most successful drivers in that group, and his next Ferrari podium would take him level with Sebastian Vettel and Rubens Barrichello on 55, leaving only Michael Schumacher ahead of them in the all-time ranking.
