A fascinating statistical analysis shared by the X account Holiness has highlighted just how challenging the current era has been for Scuderia Ferrari in Formula 1.
Ferrari’s difficult modern era
Thanks to Charles Leclerc’s victory at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Ferrari celebrated its landmark 250th Formula 1 win, extending its position as the most successful team in the sport’s history. McLaren currently sits second with 203 victories, followed by Mercedes on 138 and Red Bull on 130.
While the milestone is a remarkable achievement, it also highlights the fact that the Scuderia has endured a prolonged wait for championship success. Ferrari has not won the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship since 2007, while its most recent Constructors’ Championship dates back to 2008.
Ferrari’s win percentage by decade
One of the most interesting Formula 1 statistics to emerge in recent hours comes from the X account Holiness, which regularly publishes historical and statistical analyses related to the sport.
The latest study compares Ferrari’s winning percentage across every decade of Formula 1. The figures reveal that, based on results so far, the 2020s represent the least successful decade in Ferrari’s history in terms of victories relative to the total number of Grands Prix contested.
Since the beginning of 2020, the Scuderia has claimed just 12 victories from 140 Grands Prix, giving the team a win rate of only 8.5%. The statistic is made even more striking by the fact that Ferrari completed the 2020, 2021 and 2025 Formula 1 seasons without a single race victory.
There is still plenty of time for the numbers to improve, however. With three and a half seasons remaining before the end of the 2020-2029 decade, Ferrari still has an opportunity to avoid finishing with the lowest winning percentage in its history. The next target would be to surpass the 1980s, when the Scuderia finished the decade with an 11.5% win rate.
By contrast, Ferrari’s dominance during the Michael Schumacher era remains extraordinary. Between 2000 and 2009, the Maranello-based team won an incredible 85 of the 174 Grands Prix held during that period, giving it a remarkable winning percentage of 48.8%—nearly one victory every two races.
