Sky pundits, guests on the show Race Anatomy, have expressed their doubts about Ferrari’s competitiveness in the 2026 Formula 1 season.
A continuous failure?
The experts’ concerns stem from Ferrari’s failure in the first part of the current season, where the SF-25 has proven to be far from meeting the winter expectations.
It is important to remember, in fact, Charles Leclerc’s statements before the current World Championship started: “I would be disappointed if we don’t win at least one title.”
To date, it’s clear that all the fans are also disappointed, constantly waiting to see the Prancing Horse at the top of the world again. Will Ferrari bounce back in 2026? Here’s what Sky pundits think.
The words of Zapelloni, Capelli, and Mazzola
Umberto Zapelloni stated: “The worrying thing is this [that the same people responsible for the SF-25 will manage the project for next year, editor’s note].”
“Last year, Ferrari finished the season by scoring more points than anyone else. All they had to do was improve last year’s car to be competitive this year, but instead, they made it worse in an unimaginable way.”
“Then Hamilton arrived, a seven-time world champion, and they couldn’t integrate him into the team; unlike Mercedes with Kimi Antonelli,” concluded the journalist.

Next, Ivan Capelli commented on the matter: “For sure, we start with a big question mark.”
“The change in philosophy, from 2024 to 2025, led to difficulties in finding the right window to achieve performance. Clearly, if you don’t recognize the problems with this one, it’ll be hard to understand the new one,” added the former Ferrari driver.
Finally, Luigi Mazzola said: “This winter, Fred Vasseur pointed out that this car was almost completely new, almost as if to say ‘now my car, my team, is here’.”
“Now it’s his third year, he’s built a structure, an organization, and his work has led to the current situation. I ask myself: where is Ferrari’s technical director? The car is an expression of technology, wind tunnel, design.”
“We’re already sinking in this situation and, looking ahead, we might find ourselves with the same problem,” concluded the engineer.
