Scuderia Ferrari have just confirmed that a new power unit will be installed in the car of Sebastian Vettel before the upcoming race.
Since we are still early in the season, fortunately for the German, it doesn’t produce any penalties. Sebastian Vettel is still inside the limits for the number of engines allowed in one season.
The four-time Formula One world champion won’t have to take a grid penalty but will get a new power source in his Ferrari. After the engine issue during yesterday’s second practice session at the Silverstone circuit, it turned out that the power source couldn’t get to work after all.
The old engine is currently on its way back to Maranello for further investigations. The new engine is the same specification as the previous one. So no updates for the SF1000 in Silverstone.
