The Bahrain International Circuit is ready to host the final three days of 2022 Formula 1 pre-season testing. Tomorrow Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will hit the track for the final preparations ahead of the season-opening Grand Prix at the same venue, which takes place one week later, on 20 March.
Barcelona was officially considered a shakedown as Formula 1 teams now start to unleash the serious weaponry in the build-up to the Bahrain Grand Prix qualifying in just over a week. Thankfully, unlike the testing session at the Circuit de Catalunya two weeks ago, for Bahrain Formula 1 has confirmed we will get extensive live coverage and live timing of the events in Sakhir.

Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto recently explained that the Italian side will not bring any major upgrades for this second pre-season testing session and will instead focus on maximizing the potential of the F1-75 car. Formula 1 journalist and analyst Giuliano Duchessa also confirmed the information and added that the Maranello team will test a new floor which should bring some improvements:
“Ferrari will not show radical changes to the car before Australia. The F1-75 performed well in Barcelona, so Ferrari will try to get the car to the limit of its potential in Bahrain. A new floor with some aerodynamic changes will be used in testing this week.” – FIA accredited Formula 1 journalist Giuliano Duchessa posted on Twitter ahead of the start of the Bahrain testing session.
