The second 2022 Formula 1 pre-season testing session will take place this week at the Bahrain International Circuit, as the Sakhir track will then also host the first round of the new Formula 1 championship. For now, the focus will be on the testing session, which takes place between 10-12 March.
Scuderia Ferrari impressed at the first test by topping the lap charts with 439 laps, or 2052km, completed over the three days between Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. Mercedes (393 laps), McLaren (367 laps), Red Bull (358 laps) and Williams (347 laps) also caught the eye with strong mileage and reliability despite effectively all teams masking true performance potential.
ScuderiaFans.com will keep you informed about the events in Bahrain and also provide live video action from the Bahrain circuit.
How the schedule works for the 2022 Bahrain Formula 1 testing session
Just like in Barcelona, each day of the three-day test in Bahrain will follow the same schedule. The days are split into morning and afternoon sessions, with a one-hour lunch break in between, when drivers will meet the media. The breack also provides teams with a chance to make the necessary preparations in case another driver is taking over for the afternoon session.
The morning session begins at 07:00 GMT and runs until 11:00 GMT. After the break, testing continues at 12:00 GMT and ends at 16:00 GMT.

Driver line-up for the 2022 Formula 1 Bahrain pre-season test
According to the current Formula 1 rules, each team is allowed to use only one car during the testing session (except for mule cars permitted for tyre testing at the request of official tyre supplier Pirelli), which means the teams have split the driving responsibility between each of its drivers plus any reserve or test drivers. This is also a cost-preventing method while also prevents the top teams from having the possibility of out-developing opponents by running more than one car on track.
Here is the current list of the drivers which will hit the track during the three days of testing at the Bahrain International circuit. Not all teams have officially confirmed their programme, which means the list will be updated with further announcements:
