According to the Italian media, Scuderia Ferrari expects to introduce its new power unit (PU 3) in Monza (which has more HP and a better fuel consumption) at the Italian Grand Prix next week. As reported by Corriere della Sera, CEO Louis C. Camilleri already increased investment in the sport area (Formula 1) ahead of the new rules (budget cap).
At the same time, the Italian media reports that at Ferrari new technicians specialized in “vehicle dynamics” and “tyre management” will arrive and some have already arrived. Names unknown to the general public, but they are key figures to correct weaknesses. Despite the false start to the 2019 Formula One season, Team Principal Mattia Binotto continues to enjoy the support of the Ferrari management (top management knows he needs time and think about the medium-long term).
Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera also reported that Scuderia Ferrari expects a lot from Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc, which is considered to be a winning bet. With Sebastian Vettel the talks are evolving, as the German driver still has a contract until the end of the 2020 Formula One season, which means that both sides are in no hurry. They will see what happens in the second half of the season and then will decide.
