As was the case last year, Scuderia Ferrari’s main sponsorship, the Mission Winnow brand linked to Philip Morris International, is also provoking a lot of discussions in 2020. A few weeks ago, consumer group CODACONS took action against Ferrari after the Mission Winnow sponsorship was again prominent on the Formula One car.
The question is the same that was raised last year: the fact of advertising a brand directly connected to the tobacco industry. In some countries of the world this type of sponsorship is completely banned, so the Maranello team will present itself at the first race of the 2020 F1 season with a ‘clean’ livery, without the black inserts represented by the US company brand.

Ferrari confirmed it indirectly, with a post published in the past few hours on its social profiles in which the countdown for the Albert Park race began. In the accompanying photo you can see the SF1000 without the Mission Winnow brand, normally visible especially on the rear of the car. The same goes for the drivers’ suits, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc, which will be red with black edges but without the sponsor’s large writing which normally stands centrally. The same precautions were taken 12 months ago, when, however, the word ’90 Years’ was added instead of the brand, in order to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Scuderia Ferrari racing team.
